Dreams Revealing The Spirit of Backwardness and Generational Curses

ALL PRAISE TO THE MOST HIGH GOD.

Dreams of backwardness or regression are essentially dreams that indicate the presence of spiritual forces threatening your efforts to progress in a particular aspect (s) of your life. It is very unfortunate that a lot of people are in perilous circumstances despite the multiple warnings that they have received from The Most High God through their dreams. God speaks to us multiple times through our dreams in order to give us warnings and revelations about any ominous spiritual activities ensuing in our lives (JOB 33 verse 15 - 20). If you fail to harken to the warnings, you will succumb to destruction due to your ignorance (HOSEA 3 verse 6). We are called to study to show ourselves approved (2 TIMOTHY 2 verse 15) because deliverance can only come about through KNOWLEDGE (PROVERBS 11 verse 9). Therefore, if you know your opposition and its root, you are better equipped to fight it.

If you are constantly experiencing dreams in which you are at your former place of residence, primary/secondary school, childhood hometown or interacting with childhood friends and relatives, then you are most likely battling the spirit of backwardness and regression which is either pending or currently ensuing in your life. The key word here is "CONSTANTLY", therefore the frequency of these dreams serve as both a confirmation of the existence and an indicator of the stubbornness of the spiritual oppression.

In most if not all situations, the root cause of the spiritual oppression attached to these dreams is generational curses. Generational curses are curses that plague a family bloodline due to the disobedience and iniquities of the predecessors. The Most High God has made it clear that he visits "the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation" (EXODUS 34 verse 7). Also, according to the scriptures, "As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come" (PROVERBS 28 verse 2). These scriptures elucidates two very important spiritual laws when looking at generational curses. These principles are that; God can permit curses on a bloodline due to the disobedience of an ancestor because  a curse does not befall particular bloodline without a reason. The thing about generational curses is that they do not need your approval or knowledge in order for them to be formed and thrive. It is a spiritual law that iniquity of an ancestor has a disastrous domino effect on the descendants.

In some families it is very common to have grandparents who engaged in " traditional practices" that are rooted in the occult. This is regardless of whether the motive of these practices was benign or evil, the inevitable consequence of their involvement in these practices is to open up a portal for evil spirits to wreak havoc to their bloodline. Throughout scripture, one of the dominant themes is that of predecessors engaging in conduct that evokes curses on their innocent descendants and since ther is nothing new under the sun (ECCLESISTES 1 verse 9), many people continue to fall victims to this reality.

Generational curses can be easily identified by studying recurring patterns in a particular family. In some families for example, it is the norm for people to have kids out of wedlock or in some there is an abnormal pervasiveness of promiscuity. If you pay attention to dreams revealing the spirit of backwardness and regression you can start pinpointing these patterns.

In some situations, for example, people can succumb to generational curses if their parents or grandparents kept and possibly passed down good luck charms or talismans which were meant to serve as protection from evil and harm. While the motive might have been an innocent one, the source of these devices is not The Most High God. The scriptures make it clear that " You cannot drink [both] the Lord’s cup and the cup of demons. You cannot share in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons" (1 CORINTHIANS 10 verse 21).

Another example is if you are constantly having sexual dreams in a former place of residence, this could be an indicator that you are battling the spirit of lust that has maintained a stronghold in your family. Some may also constantly experience dreams where they are picking up coins or walking on bear feet then you could be dealing with a spirit of poverty.

Also, if you are frequently dreaming of people who have passed away, this is not supposed to be happening because according to the scriptures " the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten" (ECCLESIASTES 9:5). If you find yourself dreaming of dead people frequently, most likely these are masquerading spirits trying to lure you back into a longstanding bloodline curse. 

You may also engage in dreams where you are being offered food or engaging in sexual intercourse, these acts serve as your agreement to be bound by the curse attached to that spirit and a renewal of the covenant. If you do not cancel such dreams upon waking up you risk suffering from the continuous  adverse cycle of the curse(s).

Now these types of dreams can take a turn for the worst if you are constantly dreaming of your former residence or an old relative's house and upon waking up you find yourself in a state of what many people refer to as "sleep paralysis". This is where you are fully conscious of your surroundings, but you are unable to speak or move but yet you feel an ominous presence. In such cases, you could most likely be dealing with ancestral spirits that entered the bloodline of your family due to the participation of one or more family members in occult/witchcraft practices. Now please understand once again, the reason or motive that your ancestor had for engaging in occult practices is irrelevant, the curse is brought upon the family bloodline because it is an inevitable  spiritual law and principle.

When it comes to breaking the stronghold of such spirits and curses, prayer and fasting is the perfect solution. Being a Christian does not exempt you from the stronghold of generational curses or any form of demonic oppression. It is your ability to use the knowledge (The Word of God and instructions of the Holy Spirit) you have to fight whatever spiritual battles you are experiencing. In other words, you need to arm yourself with the full armor of God (EPHESIANS 6 verses 10 - 20).

At the end of the day, these dreams are mainly revealing that the dreamer has to break the evil covenants that have been established in the past either by themselves or their predecessors and if they fail to address them, they will continue to live a life of setbacks, delays, regression and backwardness, never, ever making any kind of progress in life. These are serious dreams and require your immediate attention.
